[★VIDEO] BTS’ Jimin and Jungkook reveal stage names they almost debuted with

BTS made a guest appearance on Mnet‘s variety show YamanTV, revealing the group name they almost debuted with as well as the meaning behind their stage names.

On June 22nd, all seven members of BTS were interviewed on the 23rd episode of the show. Now commonly known as BTS, the longer version of the group’s name is in fact Bangtan Boys or Bulletproof Boy Scouts. However, as member Suga revealed, they almost debuted as Big Kids or Young Nation instead, since they were under Big Hit Entertainment.

The members also explained their individual stage names: Rap Monster is literally a rap monster, J-Hope is the hope of the team, Suga is the short form of shooting guard which was his position when he played basketball, chose this name over other choices like Rex and Cis, Jin is the short form of his real name Kim Seok Jin.

Jimin revealed he almost debuted with a cheesy name, Baby G, but used his real name in the end. Jungkook shares a similar story with an initial stage name Seagull because he was born in Busan (baseball team reference) but retained his real name instead.

The group is now back performing on music shows with their recent comeback, easily reaching 1 million views for title track “Dope” within 15 hours.
