In episode 217, the Running Man members separate into two gangs, the High Class Gang (HCG) and the Lower Class Gang (LCG)! Joined by guests Cho Jin Woong, Oh Sang Jin, and Kim Sang Kyu, these two gangs battle it out to see who would remain as the leader of their two towns, and later, the ultimate individual end game winner. Warning: spoilers ahead.
1. Kwangtoad has a new friend…Sukjin-toad!
As the HCG came to the hill the LCG were, Sukjin decided to make his appearance known by…hopping down the hill, like a frog. In his defense, his legs were cramped from sitting in that position for too long! ㅋㅋ
2. Remember: The Running Man cameras will follow you everywhere
As they were in the mud field, Kim Sung Kyun announced he needed to go to the bathroom. Unfortunately, as they are on an open field, there were no bathrooms around so he ran to the bushes. Little did he know, his VJ diligently followed him…with his camera. Better yet, a heli-camera flew above, toward him too!
Guess he’ll remember to go to the bathroom before traveling anywhere from now on.
3. Kwangsoo punching Jong Kook in the gut for his “voluntary 90 degree bow”
In their game of volleyball, the LCG begged the UCG to scratch the last two points scored by the latter. The UCG agreed, on one condition: everyone on the opposing team must bow at a 90 degree angle. Everyone immediately complied, except for Jong Kook. Seeing this, Kwangsoo graciously punched Jong Kook in the gut, promptly having him fall onto the floor, and had him “willingly” bow.
Oh my, remember the days when it used to be the other way around?
4. Cho Jin Woong’s cool volleyball dive…into the mud
During match, Cho Jin Woong successfully hit the volleyball into the air, and immediately dove to save it…except…a fellow team member was able to save it before him so he got a face full of mud, for nothing.
Hey, at least he gets an “A” for effort?
5. Kwangsoo’s volleyball hand grabs
Kwangsoo, clearly known for his honesty, “accidently” hand grabbed the volleyball and gained points for his team. However, once he made a very obvious move (to the point it looked like he was dunking a basketball,) all chaos broke loose, turning both teams against Kwangsoo. In the end, he was thrown face first into the mud by the opposing team.
6. Introducing Running Man’s latest toy: the magic mud cannonball
In an effort to counter the cannonball volleyball, Oh Sang Jin stepped up to the line…to be hit directly in the face with it…ouch!!
So, we heard that the mud was good for your skin…free face mask anyone?
7. Kwangsoo’s escape and return to the sauna
After eavesdropping and stealing Oh Sang Jin’s answer, Kwangsoo was able to escape the sticky, sickeningly humid sauna room. It seems that his victory was short lived, though, as he was sent back in once Jae Suk won, and used his chance to bring Kwangsoo back
Didn’t you know, the humidity is good for Kwangtoads ㅋㅋㅋ
8. A new Godfather saying?
During the sauna quiz, Kwangsoo and Cho Jin Woong were filling in the blank for The Godfather’s infamous saying, “Keep your friends close, but your enemies closer.” However, it seems that one of the members in the room didn’t quite know the saying, *cough Gary cough* as he whispered to Kwangsoo “Keep your wife close, but your girlfriend closer.” Unfortunately for Kwangsoo, not only did he lose, but when he tried to defend himself, Gary quickly went over to make him stay quiet.
…sigh -shakes head-
9. Now, who knows Shakespeare’s Hamlet?
Gary, you never cease to surprise us.
As he was asked which country Hamlet was from, he confidently shouted (with confident hand gestures) “U-S-A!” Consequently, this wrong answer led to a loud DING, probably due to the fact that the U.S.A. didn’t exist back in Shakespeare’s day.
Perhaps the sauna’s heat is getting to Gary’s head ㅋㅋㅋ
10. The Commander’s saying to success
After gaining his ultimate bingo win, Jong Kook revealed the story to his success: “You need to use brains instead of power.”
