GIRIBOY releases dark, yet graceful music video for “Take Care of You”

Rapper-artist GIRIBOY has pre-released his upcoming single, “Take Care of You”, in an intricate, gloomy, and yet dainty music video.

On March 13th, 1theK‘s Youtube channel uploaded GIRIBOY’s newest music video for “Take Care of You”, a new single that is set to be released on March 17th.

Many viewers of the music video have left comments of surprise that GIRIBOY’s new song is a cover, or follow-up track, of his agency, Just Music‘s, CEO and fellow rapper, Swings, who is currently serving in the South Korean military service. Swings released his original version of the song, “Take Care of Me”, on February 26th, 2014.

Though the two songs may sound quite similar with near-identical titles and melody, many fans speculate that GIRIBOY’s cover song is a continuation, or response, to Swings’ original track.

In the music video, GIRIBOY is seen sitting alone in a dark room, filtered with black and white tones. His gentle and soothing voice begins the song with lyrics talking about the love of his life walking away from him, begging her not to go. Although gloomy and dark, the ethereal music video strongly demonstrates one’s feelings of love. A woman, who’s face remains unknown throughout the whole music video, continuously appears and disappears as if teasing the viewer.
