Many of Korea’s Hallyu celebrities gathered for the Korea Entertainment Awards where much attention was given to actors Kim Soo Hyun and Lee Minho.The Ministry of Culture, Sports and Tourism has planned and hosted the Korea Entertainment Awards at the Seoul Hongik University Arts Center on November 17th. Many actors, comedians, and artists who are considered Korea’s pride made appearances at the awards ceremony.
Lee Minho received an award for his performance in the drama that took Korea by storm, “The Heirs.” Upon receiving the award, Lee Minho said, “I am thankful that I can act in such good times for Korean celebrities, and I will continue to try my best to make sure Hallyu content stays beloved for much longer and become a good actor.”
He Who Came From the Stars was a very popular drama in Korea last winter that melted the hearts of many viewers and received a total of two awards. Kim Soo Hyun was awarded for his presentation and performance as one of the main characters and said, “This is such an honorable moment that I will cherish forever, and I will make sure I try my best in acting, so I won’t miss this moment for too long.”
The writer of the drama, Park Ji Eun, received the second award and she said, “I am humbled and feel that this award is too much of an honor for me. I would like to share the glory with the staff and directors that worked hard with me” and also included, “I will make dramas that act to console those going through hard times.”
Other recipients included actor Choi Bul Am, Lee Seung Ki, EXO, the late Kim Gwang Suk, comedians Kim Jun Hyun, Shin Dong Yup, and producer Na Young Suk.
