According to reports published on December 27th, Rain, f(x)’s Krystal, and EXO’s D.O will unfortunately not be attending the 2014 SBS Drama Awards.
Representatives for both parties have announced that the two are likely to be absent from the awards show due to reasons such as conflicting overseas schedules that are difficult to make adjustments for.
Rain is currently participating in an upcoming Chinese drama Diamond Lover, where filming is taking place between China, South Korean and Belgium, expressing his regret with his absence for the drama year-end ceremony. With My Lovely Girl recently finishing its run in the small screen, Rain and Krystal have been nominated for several award categories including the Best Couple Award. Although the two have a 12-year gap in real life, they have shown their natural acting and chemistry through the project together.
In the drama, Rain acted as Lee Hyun Wook, an entertainment agency’s acting CEO, who fell in love with trainee Yoon Se Na, played by Krystal, while he was helping her due to regret for causing the death of his ex-girlfriend, Se Na’s sister.
On the other hand, EXO’s D.O who has shown exceptional improvements in acting skills in SBS drama It’s Okay, That’s Love, starring Jo In Sung and Gong Hyo Jin, also confirmed his absence for the ceremony. In the drama, the budding idol actor D.O acted as Jo In Sung’s hallucination, after Jo In Sung suffered from psychological trauma that makes him hallucinate.
D.O have already won the Male Rookie Award at The 3rd Daejeon Drama Festival through this drama project.
Meanwhile, the 2014 SBS Drama Awards will be held on December 31st at 8:55PM KST, while while the 15th episode of the drama Pinocchio has been moved to January 1st instead.
