3 K-Pop Trainees Who Got Kicked Out Of Their Company Due To Scandals

You’ll be shocked by Number 1’s actions.

It’s quite common for K-Pop companies to kick out idols from their company when they get involved in massive scandals. While it’s not as common, there have also been trainees that got kicked out of their company due to massive scandals. Here’s a list of a few of them.

1. Huang Zhibo

Huang Zhibo was originally a trainee at Yuehua Entertainment before he got arrested for fraudulently selling facemasks in China. Huang Zhibo would post false sales information about facemasks, take advanced payments, then not show up to the agreed meeting place to deliver the facemasks. What made it worse was that Huang Zhibo posted a photo on his Weibo account, giving hope to the people of China struggling with the coronavirus (COVID-19).

In total, Huang Zhibo had swindled 110,000 yuan (~$16,000 USD). After he was caught, his contract with Yuehua Entertainment was terminated.

It is true that Huang Zhibo is involved in the case of alleged sales fraud, and we are cooperating with the police investigation. We have terminated his trainee contract, and we apologize for the negative impact he has had on the society.

Not long after this, Huang Zhibo was sentenced to 3 years and 3 months in prison.

2. Yoon Seobin

Yoon Seobin was a trainee at JYP Entertainment and made headlines when he appeared on Produce X 101. However, his appearance was shortlived, as he soon faced accusations that he was a bully, and participated in underage smoking and drinking when he was a student.

After this came out, not only was Yoon Seobin removed from Produce X 101, but his contract with JYP Entertainment got terminated.

Hello

This is JYP Entertainment.

We would like to relay our position about trainee Yoon Seobin.

JYP Entertainment has decided to terminate our trainee contract with Yoon Seobin, who was appearing on Mnet’s Produce X 101 as we believe he did not behave in line with company policy. As a result, we are also announcing he will leave the program.

Yoon Seobin ended up apologizing for his actions but stated that he was never a bully. Other people also came out and defended Yoon Seobin from accusations that he was a bully.

Yoon Seobin is now under Sublime Artist Agency and will continue pursuing his dreams of becoming an idol.

3. Ha Minho

Ha Minho was a trainee that participated in Produce 101 Season 2 but got kicked off after he was caught flirting with fans on social media.

Ha Min Ho: No you should be able to go!! Fighting fighting
Fan: ㅠㅠ You too, oppa. What are you doing today?
Ha Min Ho: Today I’m resting at home and working at night. I want to call someone over to my house. I wonder if there’s anyone willing to come.”

After this got revealed, Ha Minho was kicked off Produce 101 Season 2, and his contract with his agency, The Vibe Label, was terminated.

Hello, this is The Vibe Label.

We would like to make an official statement regarding the contestant on Produce 101, Ha Min Ho.

We would like to first and foremost, apologize to all who cheered for him on Produce 101 and also to the other trainees who were on the show with him. We would also like to apologize to all those who were hurt by his actions.

After this incident we underwent extensive discussions with Ha Min Ho and decided that he would step down from Produce 101 Season 2 and also terminate his contract with the company.

Ha Min Ho is very deeply apologetic about having caused such a controversy as a trainee and the fact that he had changed his SNS account names to Yoo Sun Ho wasn’t in order to frame the CUBE trainee but the result of a practical joke among his friends.

We at The Vibe Label will do our best to never let such incidents happen and take better care of our remaining trainees (Kim Taedong and Sung Hyunwoo) and once again apologize to all those who were hurt by us.

Thank you.
