Run Out Of Shows To Watch During Lockdown? Here Are 5 New K-Dramas Coming In May 2020

Look forward to great shows featuring BtoB’s Sungjae and more.

If you’ve already binged popular K-dramas like Itaewon Class and Crash Landing On You, you’re probably on the hunt for the next show that will keep you occupied while you’re stuck at home socially isolating. Never fear—here are 5 great upcoming shows starting in May 2020.

1. Soul Mechanic

If you enjoy medical dramas, you might enjoy KBS2’s Soul Mechanic. The unique thing about this show is that the medical lead (played by Shin Hakyun) isn’t a surgeon or a general practitioner—he’s a psychiatrist. The show centers on him and a rising musical actress played by Jung Somin.

Soul Mechanic will begin airing on Wednesdays and Thursdays from May 6.

2. Oh My Baby

If you’ve been staving off lockdown boredom by watching those funny and adorable baby videos on social media, tvN’s Oh My Baby is the perfect drama to sink your teeth into. This romantic comedy is about a career-focused parenting magazine worker (played by singer and actress Jang Nara) who decides to have a child. She’s given up on love, but three men have different ideas: a photographer (played by Go Joon), a pediatrician (played by Park Byungeun), and her coworker (played by Jung Gunjoo).

Oh My Baby will begin airing on Wednesdays and Thursdays from May 6.

3. Wind and Cloud and Rain

Historical dramas have been all the rage recently, especially since Kingdom became a Netflix hit. If you want more stories from the past, check out TV Chosun’s Wind and Cloud and Rain. This fantasy romance centers on a powerful Joseon fortuneteller (played by Park Sihoo) and a princess who can see people’s fates (played by Ko Sunghee).

Wind and Cloud and Rain will begin airing on Sundays from May 17.

4. Mystic Pop-Up Bar

For a lighter type of fantasy, try JTBC’s Mystic Pop-Up Bar. This magical mystery drama centers on an outdoor bar and the three people who run it: a bad-tempered woman played by former Sugar member Hwang Jungeum, a part-time bartender played by BtoB’s Sungjae, and a former detective played by Choi Wonyoung. The twist is that the three of them can enter their customer’s dreams to solve their life issues.

Mystic Pop-Up Bar will begin airing on Wednesdays and Thursdays from May 20.

5. Team Bulldog: Off-Duty Investigation

If you want a K-drama with more action to really keep you enthralled, OCN’s new comedy Team Bulldog: Off-Duty Investigation could be a great choice. Team Bulldog: Off-Duty Investigation will begin airing on Saturdays and Sundays from May 23.
