Ailee Responds to Heated Backlash on a Photo She Took With Chris Brown at the Grammys

She defended her choice to upload the photo.

Ailee recently uploaded photos of herself at the Grammys, which included selfies with huge American stars such as Billie Eilish and Lil Nas X.

But when Ailee shared a photo that she took with Chris Brown, she received quite the heated backlash from fans.

The reason for it was the Rihanna assault incident that Chris Brown was responsible for back in 2009, and fans didn’t like that Ailee paid tribute to him as someone she enjoyed listening to when she was younger.

Oh my god…

Shortly after the upload, the post became flooded with criticisms for posting a photo of Chris Brown, but Ailee edited the post to defend her choice to share the photo.

Edit for the last time!! When I said “he WAS one of the artists I enjoyed listening to growing up and thats a fact that will never change. “ i meant the fact that i enjoyed his music when I was younger will never change. I TOOK THIS PHOTO WITHOUT ANY KNOWLEGE OF WHAT HE DID!!! the only thing on my mind was literally “oh wow!! CB! I used to love his songs!” I DO NOT and WILL NOT support women, men, pet, animal or any other kinds of abusers and the ONLY reason im keeping this post up is to CLARIFY the reason i took this pic in the first place. I DO NOT THINK LIGHTLY OF ANY ABUSES. Now stop giving me so much shit for something I didnt even know happened and leave 👏🏻 me👏🏻 alone👏🏻 DAYUM

Following Ailee’s explanation that she didn’t know what he did and that she simply enjoyed his music growing up, many fans came to her defense.

Regardless of this controversy, Chris Brown himself responded to Ailee’s original post with, “CORNBALL“.

The opinions continue to be divided, but one thing’s for certain.

Ailee’s just doing her, and she will stand her ground.
