ASTRO Gets Their First #1 Win On A Public Broadcasting Channel 1999 Days Into Debut

Congratulations to the boys!

Boy group ASTRO has been around for quite some time! Having debuted in 2016, they have come a long way from their rookie days and blossomed into amazing artists. However, not all stars are shed light on, even if they deserve it. ASTRO did not take off right away, but it didn’t stop them from giving up! Now, 1999 days into their debut, they’ve finally taken their first #1 win on a public channel music show.

Public channel or free-to-air channel music shows such as Music Bank, Inkigayo and Music Core are known to be harder to score on as compared to cable channel music shows such as M!Countdown, Show Champion and The Show. Arguably, M!Countdown is equally as recognized as public channel music shows, but due to Mnet being a cable channel, it cannot officially be recognized as such.

ASTRO made their win on Music Bank on August 13, 2021, through Music Bank with their title track, “After Midnight”. They had previously also won on The Show and Show Champion in the same week, making it a triple crown. ASTRO thanked their fans for giving them the honor as they teared up on the encore stage.

Make sure to check out “After Midnight” if you haven’t! Congratulations to the boys.
