ATEEZ’s Leader Hongjoong And Maknae Jongho Get Real With Each Other In Special Interview

Their leader/maknae energy is strong!

Recently, Korean media company Sports Seoul has been releasing a series of interviews with the leaders and maknaes (youngest members) of different K-Pop groups, some of which include SEVENTEEN‘s S.Coups and Dino, Stray KidsBang Chan and I.N, and MONSTA X‘s Shownu and I.M.

One of their latest interviews is with ATEEZ‘s leader, Hongjoong, and youngest member, Jongho! The two idols answered a series of fun and interesting questions about themselves, how they feel about their position in the group, and how they feel about each other.

Hongjoong, the 22-year-old leader of ATEEZ, went first.

Q: What’s the best thing about being a leader?

I get the first dibs on everything. Haha!

— Hongjoong

Q: What’s the worst thing about being the leader?

I must act responsibly at all times, even if it involves the smallest things.

— Hongjoong

Q: When do you feel the maknae seems cool? When do you envy the maknae?

When the hyungs show him big reactions even at the smallest things.

— Hongjoong

Q: If you were born again, would you want to be the leader or the maknae?

I’m already used to the life of being a leader so I can’t bear to be complacent as a maknae! Just kidding.

— Hongjoong

Q: A word to your maknae.

You endured a lot as the maknae of eight, and I hope that you can continue to be the cute maknae this year as well, and stay healthy. Fighting!

— Hongjoong

Jongho, the 20-year-old maknae of the group, followed up with his own interview.

Q: What’s the best thing about being the maknae?

I feel assured because I have the hyungs.

— Jongho

Q: What’s the worst thing about being the maknae?

There’s nothing, really.

— Jongho

Q: When do you feel the leader seems cool? When do you envy the leader?

I think he looks cool when he says the team’s motto before we give our team greeting.

— Jongho

Q: If you were born again, would you want to be the leader or the maknae?

I want to be a member in the middle. I want to know what it’s like to have both hyungs and dongsaengs.

— Jongho

Q: A word to your leader.

You endured a lot in 2020, so let’s work hard in 2021 and hope that this year is full of happiness!

— Jongho
