BLACKPINK Announces The First Part Of Their Mega 5th Anniversary Project — “BLACKPINK THE MOVIE”

The movie will be showing in 100 countries.

BLACKPINK have announced the first part of their 5th anniversary project BLACKPINK 4+1 PROJECT, which will be their movie BLACKPINK THE MOVIE.

YG Entertainment shared in their June 16, KST, press release that the first part of BLACKPINK’s 5th anniversary project will be the release of BLACKPINK THE MOVIE. The movie will be released in August, coinciding with BLACKPINK’s debut date of August 8, and be screened by CGV in Korea and 100 other countries worldwide.

The movie will include various segments, including “the room of memories,” where the BLACKPINK members will share their memories during their five years promoting, “beauty,” which shows off the distinct personalities of each member, and “unreleased special interview,” where fans will be able to see previously unreleased interviews. In addition, five songs from their concert tours THE SHOW and IN YOUR AREA will be re-edited and included in the movie.

CGV intends on using their technology to provide fans with various formats to view the movie, such as Screen X where fans are surrounded by three walls of screens in front, on the left, and on the right, for a full immersive experience. They are also planning to incorporate 4DX technology so fans can experience the unique echo and catharsis from the concert venue.

BLACKPINK THE MOVIE is just one part of BLACKPINK’s 5th anniversary project BLACKPINK 4+1 PROJECT, which was just announced by YG Entertainment. The other surprises will be revealed by YG Entertainment at a later date.
