BTS’s “Butter” Ties With “Dynamite” As The Song With The Longest Stint As Number 1 On The Billboard Digital Song Sales Chart

BTS are unstoppable!

BTS‘s “Butter” has just become the second song ever to spend 18 weeks as number 1 on Billboard’s Digital Song Sales chart.

This ties with the previous record-holder, which is…BTS’s own “Dynamite”! “Dynamite” was the first song to have spent 18 weeks as number 1. Previously, the longest stint in top place was Luis Fonsi‘s “Despacito” (featuring Daddy Yankee and Justin Bieber), which spent 17 weeks as number 1 on the chart.

“Dynamite” was already a record breaker, having also been named  the most streamed song of 2021 on Apple Music, but now BTS is close to breaking their own record with “Butter” and all its different remixes, and it is well deserved! If “Butter” remains on the chart longer than “Dynamite,” BTS will have set a new record once again. The song is a smash hit and its other versions have been incredibly well received, with the Megan Thee Stallion remix gaining particular acclaim.

BTS (and ARMYs!) keep outdoing themselves time and time again. They have a lot to be proud of! Congratulations to BTS and their fans for setting new standards and continuing to pave the way in the industry.
