EXO beats 2NE1 and BIGBANG in weekly album sales in America

EXO surpassed 2NE1 with the most weekly album sales in America, locking in impressive numbers with their latest album.

By the end of the week of April 5th, EXO had sold approximately 6,000 copies of their latest album, EXODUS, which marked the largest number of sales for a K-Pop album in America. With these sales, EXO held #70 on Billboard‘s Top Album Sales Chart and #95 on Billboard 200.

Formerly holding the record of highest weekly sales was 2NE1 with their album Crush in 2014. The girls sold 5,000 copies of their album, placing as #61 on Billboard 200.

Additional to earning the title of selling the most albums per week, now EXO can also consider themselves the highest selling boy group as they have also defeated BIGBANG in their sales. Earning #150, BIGBANG’s album Alive at most sold 5,000 copies within a week.

Meanwhile, EXO recently obtained their third music show win with “Call Me Baby” on April 9th.
