“Infinite Challenge” PD Kim Tae Ho featured in publication release

PD Kim Tae Ho of MBC’s Infinite Challenge attended writer Jang Deok Hyun’s recent press conference for Work like Documentary, Enjoy like Variety Show, a book which features interviews of renowned variety show PDs. On November 5th, Kim Tae Ho discussed how challenging it was to change the structure and system of variety shows. When Infinite Challenge started in 2005, there were six regular entertainers, but Kim Tae Ho had only two cameras and one microphone boom to work with. He had to come up with something extraordinary as his request for additional cameras were rejected.

“I assembled freelance cameramen in order to be able to assign one cameraman to each cast member. I was questioned at the company’s personal committee meeting regarding the matter of using freelance cameramen. I then made a request for eight cameramen, but the idea was rejected.”

Aside from Kim Tae Ho, tvN’s Nah Young Seok and Shin Won Ho, Mnet’s Shin Hyeon Kwang, Superstar K’s Kim Yong Beom, and KBS 2TV’s Seo Soo Min have also contributed to the book.
