But Kang Ki Doong dished that they’re now friends in real life.

I call him Soo Hyun now. Since Soo Hyun was born early in 1988, we’re the same age. We’re friends now.

And he revealed how it all happened.

Since we’re friends in the drama, too, the director told us we had to have good chemistry, so we ended up becoming close for real very quickly. Soo Hyun was the one whom I got close to the fastest and the easiest on set. Since we’re the same age, we could relate on a lot of things.

Although he felt a little distant from Kim Soo Hyun at first due to his fame as a Hallyu actor, Kang Ki Doong shared that Kim Soo Hyun approached him first and their chemistry as real best friends helped them greatly on set.

Since Soo Hyun is a Hallyu star, I thought we were worlds apart before we met. I didn’t let it show, but I was afraid I would get in the way of his acting. But Soo Hyun comfortably approached me saying we’re the same age. And because Soo Hyun’s acting was so good, my job was easy. Being friends in real life helped us on set.

And it surely shows because their chemistry in the drama was superb.
