The Korean entertainment industry is in red alert after 12 celebrities have tested positive for Covid-19 over the past several days.

At least 12 celebrities in the entertainment industry in a variety of fields, ranging from sports and variety stars to idols have tested positive for Covid-19 over the past several days, disrupting the schedules for filming and forcing others to go into self-isolation.

BTOB‘s Minhyuk was the most recent celebrity to test positive for Covid-19. Earlier in the week, his vocal trainer tested positive and even though he tested negative initially, he began feeling symptoms several days later and ultimately tested positive. He has since halted all activities and will be focusing on recovery.

TREASURE‘s Doyoung tested positive for Covid-19 back on July 13, and at the time, no other member of TREASURE tested positive. He was forced to halt all activities.

Yesterday, TREASURE’s Junghwan became the second member of the group to test positive for Covid-19. He initially tested negative, but while in self-isolation, he returned a positive test result. Due to this, the other TREASURE members will remain in self-isolation for the time being.

5 cast members of Lets Play Soccer Together 2 tested positive for Covid-19, with news being released to the Korean media in quick succession. Former volleyball player Kim Yo Han, former judo athlete Yoon Dong Shik, former speed skater Mo Tae Bum, former tennis player Lee Hyung Taek, and former swimmer Park Tae Hwan all tested positive. Kim Yo Han was reported to be the first case, and after news of his positive diagnosis, the entire cast went to get tested.

All of the cast members were tested out of precaution, and filming for the show has been cancelled due to Jang Min Ho’s positive test.

Model and variety star Han Hye Jin tested positive after learning of Kim Yo Han’s positive test. She was on the same program as Kim Yo Han, filming together for iHQ variety show Leader’s Romance. She will be forced to miss filming for SBS variety show Kick A Goal, KBS Joy variety show Interfering In Romance, and other activities.

Noel‘s Lee Sang Gon tested positive after his co-star in musical Love is Timing was confirmed positive. He has cancelled all schedules including his upcoming musical performances.
