The series is a collaboration between “Mnet” and “Yoshimoto Kogyo‘.

They will be accepting male trainees aged 16 to 30.

They are aiming to make the winning group debut in 2020.

In addition, it is said that the winner of the on-going “Produce X 101” group may have activities overlapping with the debut line-up of “Produce 101 Japan”.

However, the boys of “Produce X 101” will aim for both domestic and global debut, while the boys of “Produce 101 Japan” will aim for a Japanese debut.

This is not the first time the “Produce” series has collaborated with a Japanese company. Last 2018, the “Produce” series collaborated with the AKB48 family. The winning group debuted as IZ*ONE.
