tvN’s SNL Korea 6 will be going on a temporary hiatus in order to discuss reformatting and reorganization of the show.
Starting with the June 20th episode of SNL, the show will not be airing new episodes and will be replaced by the new season of The Genius 4. This mid-season hiatus is quite rare in Korea, and some industry experts purport that this hiatus in the middle of a relatively successful season of the show reflects the staff and crew’s dedication to putting out the best possible show that they can.
SNL plans to return once The Genius 4 ends its current season later this year.
Mirroring its American counterpart, SNL Korea has had various celebrity hosts on the show from singers to comedians to popular actors. K-pop group SHINee is set to appear as hosts on the May 30th episode, which airs at 9:45pm KST.
