There’s a reasonable explanation if you’re wondering why TWICE‘s Chaeyoung was dancing to Nayeon’s “POP!” in a clown costume.
While TWICE was on their III world tour, the members filmed individual vlogs to carry out missions. In a video uploaded to TWICE’s official YouTube channel at the end of May, the members gathered to reveal who had successfully completed their tour missions.
Only two of the nine members failed their missions, Tzuyu and Chaeyoung. Tzuyu was tasked with interviewing each TWICE member for her mission. Everything was going smoothly until she ran into Nayeon. When Tzuyu approached her with a camera and began asking questions, Nayeon knew it was most likely the younger member’s mission and hilariously dodged Tzuyu.
Chaeyoung and Momo were given opposite missions, meaning that ultimately only one of them could win. Chaeyoung realized this and sacrificed her victory so Momo could succeed.
Since they failed their individual tour missions, Chaeyoung and Tzuyu were both given a penalty mission. To keep it fair, they picked their mission randomly from a gumball machine.
Tzuyu’s mission was to take a funny selfie and make it her Bubble profile photo for a month. She fulfilled her task, but only kept it up for three days. Chaeyoung was to wear a penalty costume and dance to Nayeon’s upcoming single in a future video. Chaeyoung was not looking forward to the penalty mission but agreed nonetheless.
Now that Nayeon has released her solo mini-album, IM NAYEON, Chaeyoung’s penalty video can finally be seen! Nayeon released a video of her dancing to her title track, “POP!” in an inflatable bunny suit on Instagram. Shortly after, a video of Chaeyoung dancing to the song in an inflatable clown costume.
The two joined together in a third Instagram post for an adorable video. The short behind-the-scenes clip showed Nayeon teaching Chaeyoung the choreography for “POP!” and the members getting into their inflatable suits.
