“We Lost The Summer” is one of the songs from TXT’s EP, minisode1: Blue Hour. Taehyun described the song and its importance due to the song’s current relevancy.

It tells the story of teens who are living in a completely changed world due to the COVID-19 pandemic. We can no longer run on the school field and listen to music together. It’s a story about everyone who is living through this generation.

Beomgyu was asked to share his favorite part of the lyrics. Additionally, he said that he hopes that one day they will be able to perform the song under better circumstances.

‘Our clock lost the weather, stuck in the winter.’ I think that these lyrics express the times we live in very well. I like it a lot. I hope situations will improve soon and that we will be able to perform this song without feeling sadness. I eagerly await that day.

Leader Soobin also shared similar sentiments. He expressed his sadness for working hard on the music only to then be unable to perform the songs for fans.

We worked really hard on the music and performances for our EP but due to the changes in circumstance, we couldn’t perform for our fans in person during the time of release. It was a little disheartening. We’re very happy to be able to perform this song through the Ellen Show.

Their performance, which is shot in one-take style, also reflected the theme of the song as the stage was decorated to appear as a school. Beomgyu described the concept as that they are depicting themselves as “teenagers who have lost normalcy in their lives.”
