VIVIZ’s “Queendom 2” Performance Is Full Of Hidden Meanings – Here’s What You Might Have Missed

They’d been planning their performance for a long time.

VIVIZ recently attended an interview on the “TheKstarNextDoor” series on Diggle‘s YouTube channel. And while the interview was full of laughter and jokes…

VIVIZ also answered some serious questions about what it was like to re-debut after having so many years of experience as part of GFRIEND.

As VIVIZ is currently also a part of Mnet‘s competition show Queendom 2, the interview host, Jonathan, asks VIVIZ why they joined Queendom 2 so quickly after their debut.

Eunha doesn’t hesitate to answer that VIVIZ joined Queendom 2 “for success.”

And Umji quickly adds that VIVIZ had “decided to participate in Queendom before [their] debut.”

We’ve decided to participate in Queendom before the debut. So when we did performances for music TV shows, we kept thinking that we should do the Queendom performance. And actually we prepared the first competition and opening performance while we did performances for “Bop Bop.”

But not only was VIVIZ eager to show off their immense talent to the public through Queendom 2, but they invested a lot of time into even the small moments of their performances.

Jonathan asks if VIVIZ can interpret their “Time for the Moon Night” and “Rough” medley performance. A performance that so captivated audiences that even HyunA cried.

First, SinB explains that since they were performing two GFRIEND songs, the members didn’t want to take over Sowon, Yerin, and Yuju‘s spots in the performance.

We didn’t think it was necessary to fill up the other members’ spots. So we just left them and we filled the spots with the dancers.

-SinB

And even the way they ended the performance of “Rough,” which was different from the original ending, was a significant choice for VIVIZ.

Originally we go out to the right side. But for the Queendom performance, we went to the left. To the other side. And that meant we are headed to a new way. Headed towards a new direction. Like a Decalcomania.

-SinB

Decalcomania (often referred to as “decals”) is an artistic technique that allows artists to transfer prepared designs to pottery or other materials.

And on a lighter note, Umji explains that they had a crown to represent their goal on Queendom 2.

| Diggle/YouTube

It’s Queendom, right? It means we’ll leave the crown for a while, and here, while we enjoy our performance to win the crown. We’ll win the crown again eventually.

-Umji

With the amount of thought VIVIZ puts into their incredible performances, fans can look forward to what the talented group will continue to show through the Queendom 2 stages.
