Korean Online Shop Exposed For Selling Candy Disguised As Earrings

Buyers are furious at one online shopping mall that sold gummy-bear shaped earrings made out of real gummy bears.

The product’s description claimed the earrings “look like they have real gummy bears attached”, and were being sold at roughly $3 a pair.

When buyers received their earrings, they were less than satisfied upon realizing they were real Haribo gummy bears.

“This is really Haribo jelly ㅋㅋㅋㅋㅋㅋㅋㅋ
When I touched it the coating peeled off, so I smelled it and it smells sweet. My hands got sticky, and after I took a bite I found out it’s real Haribo jellies, what a steal ㅋㅋㅋㅋㅋ ㅋㅋㅋ They’re selling Haribo for $3~~~~”

While some buyers accused the seller of fraud, others left reviews of disappointment.

“I think the coating must have rubbed off, but the earrings were stuck together so I peeled them apart, but after smelling them, I couldn’t believe how real they smelled, so I ate it and it’s really Haribo ㅋ I see that you’re coating real Haribo gummy bears in something and selling them. I wore them out on a rainy day and they became sticky. Looks like they’re going to attract ants..ㅎㅎ”

Yet the seller remained adamant about their product and claimed that they weren’t edible.

“Do they taste like them? We did add fragrances, but they’re not real Haribo jellies… They’re really not Haribo jellies. You shouldn’t eat them ㅠ We only added the fragrances.”

As the site received more negative reviews, the seller uploaded an apology and promised to provide full refunds to everyone who purchased them.

“Hello, this is Kuchi Machi. I would like to talk to you about the Haribo earrings.

First, I would like to apologize to all who were surprised and uncomfortable about our shop selling earrings made out of edible parts.

The Haribo earrings weren’t made by us, but were purchased from a wholesale market.

They were so cute and I wanted to show everyone these earrings, and when we first bought the earrings, we weren’t able to listen to the distributor’s description of the item, so we never knew they were shaped to be like the jellies, and during that time, we thought they weren’t made out of real jellies and so we continued to sell them.

After we saw the reviews of buyers saying that the earrings were made out of real jellies, we called the distributors, who confirmed that they were made with real jellies, so after that, we informed everyone that they were made with real jellies.

After finding out they were made of real jellies, I apologize we didn’t update our product description. We passed the time frame for updating the description, and it wasn’t a hot seller, so we didn’t think it through thoroughly and overlooked this problem. I deeply apologize once again.”

“Also, anyone who bought the Haribo earrings and were inconvenienced by this, please leave a post in the Q&A section and I will provide full refunds, regardless of the time they were ordered.”
